From Homeless to Housed
August 19, 2016: Groundbreaking ceremony takes place for the SECU Lakeside Reserve, a $5 million project to bring affordable housing to Wilmington.
July 17, 2017: First eight residents move in to their brand new affordable homes, completely furnished, with a view of Greenfield Lake.
August 7, 2017: Five more residents get keys to their very own homes. New residents are welcomed into the the community with a dinner prepared by Good Shepherd Center staff and board members.
All remaining units are committed and will be occupied by the month’s end. As we work towards the construction of 24 more units, we will house 40 members of our community in safe, long-term, affordable homes with access to supportive services and the Good Shepherd community.
